This short sleeve tattoo extended onto shoulder blade and pec was prepared for Conrad based on Maori, Samoan and Marquesan traditional styles.
Important people in his past (the enata) helped facing any adversity to start a voyage (the row of birds) that took him where he is now (family and prosperity on the pec).
Family is a big part of this tattoo and it appears in all parts: back (the big koru with two smaller ones), shoulder (flax leaves) and pec (the turtle enclosed in a sun for eternity and happiness).
Standing stones at the base represent achievements that brought maturity (the adult fern frond) and prosperity.
Spear heads represent the warrior while a stylized lizard is for protection and a bit of luck through challenges (the opposing waves).
The hammerhead shark motif above the pec symbolizes tenacity and strength and it protects family (the turtle) living in joy and prosperity (the sun made of coconut leaves around the turtle) and the freedom represented by the manta behind the turtle´s head.
The turtle has elements representing each family member and the help and support they will always grant each other.
