This Marquesan style tattoo for the shoulder has been prepared for Marco and it symbolizes the importance of his family.

The round element on the left represents a compass and it shows the direction to follow.
Tefio, symbol of the woman and of beauty, is in the center representing his daughter as a constant point of reference in his life (her name is disguised at the top).

The family members and ancestors around her will always be present and united to protect her (the knots indicate union, alliance) in her journey of life (the bird below) giving her love (the checkerboard pattern) and teachings (the stones).

Spearheads, tiki hands and arms, and shark teeth are protective symbols.
Pandanus flowers and the ipu indicate prosperity.
